Barbara,
You can find your version of IE by clicking Help--->About from the tool bar
of IE.
To check on what you should download for updates and security, use Windows
Update and install at least those listed as Critical.

Not sure to whom you are addressing your message. This is a public self-help
group for questions about Windows XP. It does not send email to anyone.

To find out what version of Internet Explorer you have, open Internet
Explorer and go to Help | About Internet Explorer.

To find out what critical security updates you require for Windows XP, and
to have them downloaded and installed, open Internet Explorer and go to
Tools | Windows Update. You can also find Windows Update on your Start | All
Programs menu (among many other places).

The quantity of cookies on a computer will not cause the computer to operate
slowly.

To see the cookies stored on your computer, open Internet Explorer, and go
to Tools | Internet Options then press the Settings button followed by the
View Files button.
