Internet Explorer wont open

Hi,

when I click the blue E to open internet explorer, I will
get the hour glass for a few seconds then get an error
message saying Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and needs to close....this has just started since I
installed the new XP SP2. IF I create a shortcut to my
homepage and place it on my desktop, it will open without
problem, but I would still like to know how to fix this
issue.

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite) Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at

used the IE fix, and I now can open my browser again.
