Every time I try to go to a page in IE (either by entering and URL on
the address bar or opening an shortcut file) it will not navigate to any
page. The animation on the top right corner plays perpetually although
no effort is made by IE to go to the webpage. I tried some fixes from
http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm but they don't work. I also
upgraded from v6 to v7 beta 2 but to no avail. Despite all this, FireFox
and all my other internet applications work fine. I think it's
definitely one of the dlls' fault.

Same with me it happend just 2 days ago
Running xphome service pack2
When I open IE6 No thing happens the microsoft flag works but nothing
happens the header on IE6 will say yahoo. But not in the address bar I can
put some thing in the address bar but nothing.
Also all the buttons like file, edid, view, favorites, tools, help will not
work. So can not go to Microsofts page thru that or to windows update.
Firefox and netscape works good also have IncreMail and it is working.
Hope somebody has a answer to all of this.

Did you ever get this figured out?
I have exactly the same problem and have tried everrything, short of
reformatting the drive and nothing has worked for me.

Same problem here exactly. Definitely no spyware here - done the scans and I
only use IE on Microsoft.com and parts of Yahoo.com. I recently had IE7
installed and then uninstalled it a couple of weeks ago and it appeared to
happen about the same time but I recall it happening a few times on IE7 too.
Security settings are all defaults. Wondering if the couple of system
restores I did around the same time may have messed things up.

Oddly, for me occassionally IE will access the WWW for a limited amount of
page loads and then return to not working again.

The only solution might be http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378 but I am
hoping something else comes up first as that procedure can be a bit of a
hassle.

I've tried all the recommendations at kb318378 to no avail, problem
still exists.
Other than reformatting, I'm at a loss.
