Internet Explorer window limit

Internet Explorer has recently developed a problem (this
morning, actually) whereby I can only have one Internet
Explorer window open at a time.
Any attempt to have more than one open results in the
original window being closed and the new one opening up.
This is a rather annoying problem, as I like to surf
multiple web pages at once - have one loading while I
read another for example - so I would be grateful if you
could help me.
The only recent changes to my system that I know of
before this problem occurred are the installation of
Yahoo! Messenger, Toolbar companion for Yahoo! and Yahoo!
Mail client (provided with Messenger) all of which I
uninstalled (to no avail, however) when I found the fault
with Internet Explorer - if that information is of any
use.
I've also read round the knowledge base and looked on
other support sites, also I checked through the options
in IE itself, but no such luck! I've also scanned the
computer for viruses with Norton 2003 (up to date) and no
viruses found, so I'm somewhat baffled as this has never
occured before!

I would say that you are a good candidate to try System Restore.
Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore

"Restore my computer to an earlier time" should be selected
by default.

Click Next

Choose a date on the calender that is in BOLD that is prior
to the issue having started. I would choose a date prior to
the installation of that Yahoo stuff.

Follow along the instructions.
If the system restore process is successful but does not
resolve the issue, then you can go back to System Restore
and choose the option to UNDO the last System Restore.
