I've created a new user account on my Windows XP (SP2) Dell Inspirion 8600
laptop.

Internet Explorer does not start on it. Double clicking on the icon produces
the standard error alert where I can send a feed back report to Microsoft.
I've created several new user accounts and they have have the same problem.

I've copied the Default User account from another machine, renamed the one
on the Dell, created a new account with the new Default User profile and
still encounter the error. I've deleted the "replacement" Default User
account and re-renamed the old.

Please help.
P.S. Opera works on the new user accounts. It's just Internet Explorer.
I'm running Norton Security 2005 also.

See the IE 6 not open , only recieving errors post on Feb 23/05 (page 2). It
should have the fix you need.

We need more information to be able to help you. Click on the details button
(or details link) when your system crshes and provide:

xxx caused an xxx in xxx at xxx:xxxx

or if you are using a later operating system, provide information about the
files (modules) involved in the crash.

If you are using the Error Reporting Tool, disable it so you can access the
error message in a more understandable form. Informationon how to disable
the Error Reporting Tool is here:
