Resets all the IE functions - for windows, hangups,
Start> Run> Paste this
regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
and then do the same with each one of the following..

regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll
You should see a message after each entry to let you know the file has been
registered.
NOTE: If you can not download these programs from the Internet, if your PC
has CD read capabilities, go to another computer with CD-ROM burning
capabilities. Create a folder on the hard drive of the other computer called
HOLD, download the programs to that folder, then burn that folder to a CD.
Copy the HOLD folder to your HD and then install the programs from there
and run them.
If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hi,
Friends machine (XP) will not load any pages. The IE program opens OK,
removed all spyware (Ad-Aware) and no improvement. Seemed to occur
after the SP2 install. ADSL broadband connection is fine. Anti-virus
software states 'no connection' when attempting to download updates.
Typing a URL into IE gives a 'page could not be found' error and
sometimes the after typing in the URL and pressing return, the URL is
somehow expanded behind a search URL (if you know what I mean). Any
help would be appreciated. Is it that they installed SP2 without
following the proper protocol?
