Hi all,

I've got a problem with IE being extremely slow with JS enabled.
Filling in forms on some sites is like typing one letter every
second, and scrolling such sites does so with large jumps and
jerky movement -- when IE decides to follow the mouse, that is.

These same sites work fine (very fast) with Opera v7.11, so I
know it's an IE problem and not my system. I confirmed this
further by disabling JS in the settings and INSTANTLY the sites
sped up. One such site that I use daily is:

http://www.whitepages.com.au/wp/

Is there any way to speed up the usage of such sites with IE?
I'm using Win 2K Pro (SP4) and IE v6.00 (SP1). Also, I've done
a spyware check with SpybotS&D and it came up empty, and I've
done a check with www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm to
ensure there's nothing dodgy there, and there isn't.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Use the text only version of Whitepages in any event; I find the full
graphic version to be far too cumbersome; the text version is very
quick.

True -- but read on... :)
Regarding your forms problem, check out the URL below:

The problem was the 'format documents using my style sheet' feature.
As soon as I disabled that, the pages were quick to edit and scroll.

Thanks Sandi! :)
