internet explorer stops responding when typing in a url

Has anyone seen an issue where you type in a url and hit
enter and ie just locks up and shuts itself down? I can
click on links on the home page and click on favorites,
but as soon as I type in a url, it locks up. Any known
fixes?

You may would like to check for SPYWARES. Download Ad-aware tool from here:
http://www.webattack.com/get/adaware.shtml

Initiate the Adaware and it will deep scan the registry for spywares, After
the scan is finished, click [Next] button. Select all the items
(checkboxes). right click on any object in the "Scan result" list and choose
[Select all objects], Click Next and click OK to confirm spyware removal.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. It is also strange becuase

I can sign in on a different profile, and it works. Just
not on the one specific profile. Kind of weird.

I am having the same problem. IE 6.o stops responding
under one user, but when I logon as adfifferent user, it
works.
If you hear anything to fix, please let me know.
