MS can you please provide a way to disable sounds (i.e.
the navigating sound) in a session of a web browser
control host app so that messing with the registry will
not be necessary in order to disable sounds just in the
app.

Thanks

Go to Control Panel, Sounds and scroll through the list to the one you want
to disable.

You don't understand what I said. I need to do this for
my own application which does not show up in the control
panel. The sound comes from a web browser control that I
am hosting in my app and I don't have a way to tell it
not to make any sounds (just in my own app).

I think I can disable sounds temporarly by changing the
registry where web browser get its sounds but that is not
a nice thing to do becuase it can effect other apps that
host the browser control like for exapmple IE, and I may
also have some timing issues to deal with if I want to
quickly put it back the way it was. Q201901 has more info
on this (notice the 'by design' note :().

If anyone has any suggestions they will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks
