All of a sudden it takes IE about a minute to load instead of the 2 or
3 seconds before.
Any one have any insights of the cause.
I did install the latest Java app, other than that no change to my
system.

I had the same problem after a Java update. I also have Spysweeper. I
went back to the older Java version and it fixed things up. What did
you find in Spysweeper? How does it get corrupted? The new Java update
put a BHO in IE, and if I removed it, IE worked ok, but some Java
sites would not work properly.

I solved mine by re installing Spy Sweeper. I did this to all 3 of my
machines and the problem went away on all. I don't know what happened
however when installing Java Spy Sweeper ask about a helper object.
That is probably the cause.

BTW, did you allow the browser helper?

Looks like I spoke to soon. This morning on boot up I am back to slow
load of Internet explorer.
I don't remember what I did on the install Allow or not. I think I did
on one and not on the other but not sure so that does not seem to be
the problem.
I re installed Spy Sweeper again but this time it did not help. I am
going to un install and re install Java here shortly to see if that
helps.

I un-installed update 6 and re-installed version 5. Google for it. I
got it from Tucows. Make sure you un-install the old version first.

I am 100% certain now that Java update 6 is not compatible with spy
sweeper. With update 6 installed I have no problems with spyware
doctor or spy emergency. Un installing update 6 and re installing
update 5 everything works as it should. If you do not uninstall update
6 before installing update 5 you still get the slowness. Removing
update5 solves the problem.
Any other work around's?

Also, if you install version 5, uncheck the auto update, or you'll be
back at square one.

Did you mean uninstalling update (6) solves the problem?

Sorry about the confusion.
I meant to say I removed update 6.
I then installed update 5.
Like another post indicated be sure to not let it auto update.
I have since found that if the auto update is on it will try to
download a new version and examining that it says it is version 6
BETA.
Makes me wonder if it being a beta is not the problem.
