I am having 4 Workstations WinXP SP2 and since a short time everytime I open
IE 6.0 IE opens to the home page. But as soon as I click a link it shuts
down immediately.
What could cause this behaviour and also how can I repair, if necessary, IE
6.0.
I have scanned for Viruses, spyware, etc. but everything is clean.
Thanks for your help.
Try this:
Then try to Clear your caches, delete Internet Files and cookies then Disable
the Add-Ons on your Browser somehow your browser been
hooked by Add-ons or Plug-ins. On how to disable the Add-ons follow this:
Click start >> Control Panel >> Double Click Network and Internet
Connections >> Double click Internet Options, on the IE Properties window
click on Programs Tab and then click the Manage Add-Ons Button there Disable
the None/Not Verified Plug-ins/Add-ons (You need to Renable them Later
one-by-one and see which one will be the culpirt or you can Search for them
to see if they Legitimate Add-Ons or not).
Click on Advanced Tab and scroll down under Browsing and uncheck this Box:
[ ] Enable Third-Party browser extensions (Req Rest) and click [OK] to
confirm your Changes and Reboot your machine.
If the above didn't help then try to register some DLLs by opeing a Run
Command and type these commands one-by-one and Click [OK] or Hit Enter on
your Keyboard.
regsvr32 urlmon.dll
regsvr32 mshtml.dll
regsvr32 shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 shell32.dll
regsvr32 Browseui.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
netsh winsock reset
P.S Do you have any other Toolbars installed beside IE.
HTH.
