I am getting these errors a lot in IE and even in FP without IE
running !! Probably it would be best to point out a web page that
ALWAYS gives me this error in IE, and list the error.
The website is www/cnn.com. I get the same error every time on this
site and it repeats several times. When I click "Yes" or "No" I get
another identical popup error box, but on a different line number,
until all the lines of erros have been displayed - then that page
shows up OK.
Here is the CNN website error:
------------------------------------------------------------
Internet Explorer Script Error (in title bar)
an error has occured on this page
Line: 30
Char: 1
Error: Object Expected
Code: 0
URL: http://www.cnn.com
------------------------------------------------------------
A lot of people on usenet say that you need to change your setting in
IE by going to Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab. But this has not
worked for me !!
Others say that the Personal Web Server (PWS with Win98 and IIS with
WinXP) is the culprit. But I run XP with IIS, and it includes
FrontPage Extension for FrontPage 2000, so I hesitate to remove it.
I cannot reinstall IE because WinXP does not have a way to uninstall
it. Any ideas ??
