Internet Explorer running!!

I am fixing my dads computer, and I just saw iexplore.exe running in
the background. I looked online and saw other peoples ways of fixing
this or their advice of certain spyware removal, but no luck. I have
tried AVG, Spybot, a-squared, and super adblocker, and even some other
programs to help stop it from starting up like autoruns. So some said
I have to reformat, but I don't know if thats the final answer to
this. Has anyone had this happen and if so how do you stop it. Also I
got a file called "botreg.dll" running in "C:\Documents and Settings
\All Users" folder which I cant seem to delete. Any advice?

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
