People
I have recently noticed problem on my PC. When i connect to the
internet and download images, after about 20 downloads the right mouse
menu no longer works.
Generally i right click on an image and open it within a different
window and then right click and save to file. I have have 4 or 5
windows opening seperate images at the same time and before it was
never an issue. I also remember having this problem on my 98 machine.

The only way to deal with this presently is disconnecting and
rebooting the PC. Its a pain. Anyone have any ideas?, is it a memory
problem?
I have run the latest version of AVG softeware and Adaware but have
found nothing.
I have windows xp home edition and i'm runnning version ie6.0

Please help. I am going mad trying things

Hi,
Just a guess, but try clearing the cache and setting it's size to about
50-60 MB.
IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete files (and delete offline
content.)

Hope this helps,
Don

Thanks for the advice my friend. However, i genrally clear my cache,
history...etc once a week. I had tried that but to no avail.
Its size is also set to 150mb.

Any other ideas ppl?

How much free space do you have and has it been defrag'd?
XP seems to have a problem with low disk space or very fragmented
disk space and you may see explorer.exe looping. Another symptom
of this condition is display problems, starting with not getting the contents
of the Systray rendered and getting progressively worse. When these
things happen to me and I'm not ready to reboot or defrag what I often
do is kill explorer.exe and use Task Manager instead.

There might also be a "memory leak" in one of the tasks you are running.
You could use Task Manager or PerfMon to track related statistics
to see if that could be the case.

ok, i done a degrag on the C drive but the problem remained.
I have kept an eye on the processes running and have not noticed
anything odd.
At one point i had 2 IEXPLORE.exe processes running but they cleared.

Your adive may well help if I understood any of it!! haahaaa. Sorry,
not quite that technically minded. I got a bit lost then.

One thing i did try was saving the images to a new empty folder.
Having done this the right mouse button is working with no errors. It
has been fine over the weekend so fingers crossed, that may be a
solution. Not sure why this would be an issue. The existing folder had
over 1000 images using about 200mb. Those damn hi-res wallpapers!!
