Hi, IE is stopping after about 45 seconds on my
girlfriends Home XP system. I get a message saying " IE
has encountered a problem and will shut down. The warning
message says,
Appname: iexplore.exe
Appver 6.0.2800.1106
ntdll.dll
Mod version 5.1.2600.1217
offset 00008e20

You can jump to as many web pages as you want in about 45
seconds, then it gets the error.

Does anyone know how I can fix this (in detail). I think
there is spyware in the system, and I'm not that computer
saavy, If I had detailed instructions, I could go into
the registry and find and fix.

Thanks all...........Rich

Have you tried running IE in another user account on the computer? Try that
and download AntiSpyware here and restart the computer in Safe Mode and run
a full system scan.

Open up the application | click spyware scan | click scan options | under
run scan now, click "Full system scan" | Then click "Scan driver/folders" |
to the right of that is a folder with blue "dots" next to it, click those
dots. This will open a map of your connected hard drives, select which
drives you want scanned, click "Ok", then run the scan.

Download the new build of AntiSpyware here:
