Internet Explorer problem

I'm running IE6. Last night my system crashed and since
reloading I've been unable to display any pictures on any
window. Where the picture should appear I get a small
square with a red cross in it. This also distorts the
window. Any ideas? I'm using Windows ME if that's any
help. Cheers.
