From time to time one or more of the IE windows will get stuck under other
windows and will not raise to the top. Minimizing and restoring the window
does not cause it to change position WRT the other windows. What gives here?
(Note, not all open IE windows get stuck, and new windows behave properly.)

Hi,
[Assuming Windows XP]
See:
886217- New program window appears behind all other open windows on Windows
2000, Windows XP or Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=886217

Note (in that article) that TweakUI can make the registry edit, if you don't
wish to do it manually.

The UNDO file at http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm (line #66
right-side) makes the same registry edit.

Hope this helps,

I will try this but I don't think it addresses the problem. When a window is
stuck there is NO way to move it. The only way to see the whole thing is to
minimize all the other windows. As I recall, when a task bar item flashes,
clicking it will put the window on top. That does NOT happen in this case.
