Pop-ups show up everyfew seconds. Telling me that there is an error and that it must shut down. I though I installed the Internet Explorer 6, but when I checked the Control panel, it is not listed as installed. I did this this morning. Help!

From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That should allow IE to open.

Run CWShredder from http://www.merijn.org/downloads.html It's been
the most helpful with this problem. It may be the only cleanup program you
need this time. CWShredder is only about 125 KB so it could be downloaded
from another machine onto a floppy disk.

Search for and remove other malware and note the security tips at:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

If those steps don't help, post back to this thread.

I have the same exact problem. I'm running Windows 98SE and I can't find
"Enable third party browser extensions." Is it in a different location in
98SE?

Thanks

I have done everything like DON said and it worked ,i also run the other program which is there on the list ,which lets you see what is going on the log files and lets you choose which files you dont want to run , and which you want to remove manually.
On that Web site from DON they say that our problem is some kind of trojan which dosen't let run or connect to sites with virus scans or add removal tools. Do everything as Don wrote and everything should be back to normal.
Here is this two links again http://216.180.233.153/~merijn/files/HijackThis.exe
http://216.180.233.153/~merijn/files/CWShredder.exe
THANKS DON .
