Every time i click on internet explorer it gives me a
message saying that the program is not responding. then it
asks me wether i what to SEND or DON'T SEND the problem on
to microsoft. I have already tried to reinstal IE and do a
system restore. Could i have a virus? If so how do i get
rid of it without having to reinstal windows?

It is possible you may have parasites on your system causing the problem.
Download, install, update the programs to be sure they have the latest
definitions, then run the programs below. They are free and very effective.
Be sure to run both SpyBot and Adaware, as what one does not detect the
other may. Follow the directions carefully:

SpyBot Search & Destroy: Free

or

AdAware: Free

Do you have access to a computer that can create CD's? If so, download the
programs to that hard drive, burn a copy of them to a CD and then load it to
your computer. Have you run your anti-virus program? You did not mention
it. However, if it is spy, ad or mal ware, chances are the AV won't detect
it. That is why you would need SpyBot and Adaware.

As you can't get to the internet you can't do an on-line AV scan either if
you don't have an AV, so, you will have to do the same with an AV program
from another computer as the other two programs. You can download AV's
called AVG6 Free or Avast for Home, also free.

AVG6: Free
http://www.grisoft.com/us/us_dwnl_free.php

Avast Home: Free
http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html

These are two other programs that you might also download and burn to the CD
to load to your computer too, just in case.

CWShredder: Free
http://tinyurl.com/2l9kl
or
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4086.html

McAfee Avert Stinger: Free
http://tinyurl.com/2esu7
or
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

If it is not a virus, you will need the SpyBot and Adaware programs to clean
your machine.

Don't just use spybot.
What You Should Know About Spyware
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/devioussoftware.mspx

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

See
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Do an Online Virus search:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/
or
http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/vinfodb.html?prodid=nav2002/

And, as I said in my last post, using just Spybot S & D is not enough. Use
some of the other tools Jan and I recommended.
