After installing MSAS and running a virus scan and fix,
I'm unable to pull up my Internet Explorer application. I
looked in the task manager and found the IEXPLORE.exe
process running. I think that MSAS changed something that
it shouldn't have in the registry. Unfortunately I did
not check the create registry backup box before MSAS
corrected my spyware problems. (i.e. System restore does
me no good) Could someone help me out?

Thanks,
Jessica

After you run Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta), you have network-related
problems, or you receive an error message
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892350

I downloaded the latest version of the Microsoft Windows
AntiSpyware (Beta) yesterday and have the same Internet
Explorer problem described by Jessica. I also did not
check the registry backup box before MSAS deleted the
spyware.

Some of the deleted spyware were IE add-ons; two were
Claria software. My OS is Windows XP Home Edition. I
also did not receive any error messages during MSAS
installation.

How can I restore my IE functionality?

I also noticed using System restore is not helping
anymore, it is just not fuctioning properly. The first
thing that happened in IE, I lost my Search options,
completely. Tried to restore back one week, and it did
not appear to work, either.....?? BJ
