Recently my computer was over run with adware and spyware of all sorts. I am
still experiencing continued pop ups but I am getting the problem under
control. Ever since the computer has gone down hill, internet explorer
hasn't been working on my account. It works sometimes on the other accounts.

I double click on internet explorer and it pops up as if it is contacting a
site then a message pops up and says "Internet explorer as encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. It goes on
to say other stuff and gives you the option to debug, send error report or
don't send. There is also a place that shows you the error.

I don't know how to fix it and I am thinking that I should just unload it
and download it again.

If anyone can help or knows of any virus that may cause IE to go haywire,
please let me know.

Thank you

Most any virus can "cause IE to go haywire".

You must completely remove every last trace of viruses and spyware before
you can attempt any other repairs to your computer. If you are unable to do
this you will have to erase your hard disk and start over.

Hi N Gas :-)

Well....it's a bit difficult for us to give you a clean cut solution, as you
don't mention the version of Windows you are using, the version of IE (i.e.,
SP1 or SP2), which is all very important information when asking for help.
You also don't tell us what programs you have used to clean your system thus
far, and if you are still getting popups, then you haven't yet cleaned it
successfully. There are some types of scumware that can replicate itself
over and over again if not clean properly. So, it may be that what you've
used thus far has not fully clean it. And...there are certain ways some
removal tools have to be used to work properly.

While you can do a total wipe and reinstall, it may not be necessary to go
that drastic a route.

I can post a whole lot of removal tools that you can use, but, it would be
easier for me, and others who may be able to help, if you posted back with
the information we need above so that we know what you are using, and what
cleaning tools you've used so far. Then we can see what we can do to help
you from there. :-)
