Emily Harris

I have run ad-aware, spybot, updated IE, deleted unnec
software and cache. Still runs slow. Often get error
message when closing. It is driving me crazy.

Also Windows Explorer runs slow when running with IE.

PLEASE HELP>

desperately seeking solution.

Emily,

It may be due to malware BHOs. BHO [ Browser Helper Objects ] load with both iexplore and explorer instances. You may try disabling the malware BHO using ToolbarCop, to start with. If disabling a BHO solves the problem, delete the BHO and run Ad-Aware scan. And, reinstalling Internet Explorer does not remove the malware BHOs. Their entries will be still present in the Registry.

Also, did you update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware. And please post the error message as well.

Got rid of BHOs, ran updated AdAware;
error message: szAppV 6.0.2800.1106 szMovName: hungapp

files listed in subdirectory
localsettings\temp\WER97.tmp.dir001\ include
iexplore.exe.mdmp
iexplore.exe.hdmp
appcompat.txt (very long) and manifest.txt.

Programs continue to run slow; Windows explorer is slower
again.

Other ideas?
