Hey gang,

Through my job, there is a web site I can log into to, among other things, view my paychecks.

The problem is that after I sign-in and view the list of checks and click on the one I want to view, the new tab or new window, tried it both ways, opens but closes right away and the "blocked pop-up" sound is made.

I tried disabling the pop-up blocker with no difference.

I am able to view and print the material on another machine.

I was able view and print the material my machine before a format and software re-build.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Hi Smitb2

Is this a problem that is only happening on your machine ? Have you tried using Firefox ?
My first suggestion to you would be to reset Internet Explorer and see how you get on then.

welcome to PCR

You can allow pop-up windows to open in a Web site by adding the Web site to the Allowed sites list.

To do this, follow these steps:
Click Start, point to All Programs, and then click Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, point to Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.
In the Address of Web site to allow box, type the address of the Web site, and then click Add.
Click Close.

Override Worked...........why

Hi Muckshifter & EvanDavis,

I have added the website to the popup block exceptions with no improvement to the situation.

Just now I was able to get the window in question to open using the override key (CTRL + link) in internet Explorer 8.

My question now is why did I have to use the override key if I added the site to the popup blocker exceptions list? I even added a wildcard character for the domain, *.spartanstores.com, in addition the the specific hrssl.spartanstores.com.

Thanks,
Smithb2
