My aging HP Pavilion 4535 now always comes up with the
following error:
Internet Explorer ILLEGAL OPEARATION
Explorer caused an invalid page fault in
module DGNDI.DLL at 0167:10017d00
Clicking the "X" close button alway disables the
screen and the computer must be manually shut down
and restarted. Ctl-Alt-Delete will not function !
If the warning is just ignored the rest of the
Desktop becomes available and things proceed almost
normally until the existing "runtime ERROR" finally is
triggered and then nothing works properly or at all.
I have tried using the find files function to locate the
referenced module " DGNDI.DLL" It does NOT exist on this
computer.!
I have investigated into the version of InternetExplorer
runnig on this machine, using the Shdosvw.dll file: and
it appears that the installed version is 6.00.2800.1106
This is referenced as the IntExpl version for WinXP.
My HP Pavillion4535 is running Windows 98 Second Edition
& the referenced IntExpl version is 5.00.2614.3500.
How do I get this unstable machine to get rid of the
DGNDI.DLL invalid page fault ERROR and how to I get the
proper Internet Explorer version loaded if I can't trust
the internet connection to stabilize long enough for a
download.
Feel free to email suggestions. My Office WinXP machine
seems reliable this week. // Pattie
