My ISP install has hijacked my ie6 and I cannot get it to
revert. I tried uninstalling to ie5 but thats customized
too! - when I reinstall a virgin copy from Microsoft some
script or something customizes it (ie, looking at about
1e6 it informs me that it is a customized version) - how
do I install a virgin copy and keep it that way?

Here's one way to remove the branding from Internet Explorer and Outlook
Express. http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/faqs/how.htm#debrand
As I recall, there is another, easier way, but I can't remember the exact
steps.
