"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem..."

I keep getting the "Internet Explorer has enountered a problem and needs to
close" error message when accessing links in websites or my email.
The following details of the error message are as follows:
App.Name: iexplor.exe AppVer: 7.0.6000.16512 ModName: nppw.dll
ModVer: 2006.1.0.54 Offset: 000390f1
What do I do to make it stop???
