background: I just got Internet cable (Comcast), still
have old dial-up to AOL but Internet Explorer is now set
as default. IE ver. 6.0.2800.1106 . Windows XP SP1.
problem: I keep getting the error shown in Subject. It
gives me the option to "Send Error Report" or "Don't
Send", then it shuts down any open IE windows. I also get
this message a lot even when I have no IE windows open. I
also get the option "To see what data this error report
contains, click here". Looking at the report, it lists
modules iexplore.exe, ntdll.dll, mscvrt.dll, USER32.dll,
and many others.
I've tried re-installing IE, deleting History, disabling
Windows Messenger. I found two items on Microsoft's IE
Support pages with the exact same error mesage, but their
solutions did not pertain to or help my situation.
Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
