internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close

my internet explorer has just started the above error
problem and because it will not let explorer open i
decided to completely delete it and thus reload it
again.but it will not let me deleteall of it so it will
not let me download internet explorer again to load overit.
can anybody help.
because i started to delete most of it it would seem the
best action would be to continued to delete all of it and
start again or is this the wrong thing to do.
because it will not let me open explorer at all i can not
uses help and support so the only other detail i can offer
is from the error report to m/soft: as follows
AppName.iexplor.exe AppVer 6.0.2800.1106 ModName
shell32.dll ModVer 6.0.2800.1233 Offset:00095f7c

I'm also running XP.
I get the same error message under the same circumstances.
Mine also references ModName shell32.dll.

Other users of the same computer DO NOT have any problems
with IE.

What do I do to get IE to run?

Download "Hijack This!" [freeware] or download direct (below):

If you get a 404 error or Access denied, try:

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates "hijackthis.log")

Next, HijackThis | Config [button] | Misc Tools [button]
Click: Generate StartupList log [button] (generates "startuplist.txt")
