First eliminate any scumware.
CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of these programs ,
download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

Well i tried everything you suggested and used it for two days to see how it
works but it did not resolve my issue however it did improve it a little.

I found that if you delete the last 4 "Hotfixes" on the Add/Remove Program.
Restart your computer, then re-installing those "Hotfixes" and restarting
your computer again, your troubles will disappear. I had problems with my
internet explorer 6 lately and that's what I did. Hope that helps...

If you could maybe be specific about which hotfixes to remove it would be
better cause i really don't want to go removing some other hotfix that has
helped me possibly.
Thanks

Thanks for the help but unfortunately that link had nothing about my problem.
I installed this software a couple of days back, System Mechanic 5
Proffesional, i used all the options it offered of repairing registry files,
cleaning junk files etc. and since then my computer especially internet
explorer has been working MUCH better so i guess that could be an answer. But
in long term i cannot predict.

Are you using a firewall?

Yes, I'm using Norton Internet Security 2005 which does provide the firewall
for the computer. Why? What has that got to do with my problem?

look into your privacy settings
you may have to add the site you are trying to get and customize it to

No actually till now i haven't had to add any sites there however i have
added a lot to allow pop up's. How is this related to my question at all?
