....every day! the odd thing is that it happens 95% of the time on espn.com.
I will try to access an article or read a boxscore, etc. and the exploreer
will just freeze. and when i say every day, i mean, every day at LEAST once.
I use a dell wireless card with a inspirion 5150 system and a lynksis (sp?)
wireless router. this is a prblem for me because, well, it is really
annoying since it happens so regularly. does anyone have any advice on how
to fix or avoid this problem?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

may be found on this page:

CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of the programs
below, download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.

i have tried all of that before...i consistently remove any spy/adware from
my computer, and yet still this happens. oddly enough, sometime what will
happen is that the website will apparently freeze up--and if i CTRL-ALT-DEL
it will say the program is not responding--but if i let it go for awhile then
it will come back up and be fine. but many times i have to close down
internet explorer and start over again. if it happened on more than one
website it would be one thing, but like i said in the original post it seems
to exclusively be on ESPN.com and on a daily basis. is there anything else i
can try?

I don't know.
