I currently have "running" Version 6.0.2800 of Internet
Explorer. My cable connection runs great under Netscape but
i need Internet Explorer to run for my web design changes
for my work.

When I try to access it, I get "cannot display page" and a
DNS error at the bottom.

Internet Explorer does not appear on the Control Panel list
of applications to be removed/added. I would like to remove
it cleanly if is corrupted but cannot since it doesn't show.

When I try to load a version from downloads off the
Microsoft.com web site, I get the error, Microsoft detects
a new version and it aborts.

PLEASE HELP!

First, despite the Knowledge Base article with instructions for removal, as
the article states, there is no way to completely remove Internet Explorer
as it is fully integrated into the operating system. Second, it is highly
unlikely the error you are seeing is caused by an IE corruption. It's more
likely that IE is having a problem with the path to page you are trying to
display, whether on your system or at your website or you have some security
software that is blocking either the site or some element on the page. You
might want to check your firewall and antivirus options as well as any other
security software you might be running to see if it might be blocking
access.
