Internet Explorer Favorites icons question

I notice that some icons in IE favorites menu are special icons associated
with their urls (for example, Encarta has a special one), but most are the
default IE favorites icons. Sometimes all icons in the menu are reset to IE
favorites menu default icon. If I change screen resolution, they sometimes
come back, but eventually revert back to the default icons. How can I keep
them from changing back?

Never empty IE file cache.

Or find the ico files and move them to a permanent location and set your
favorites though their properties to see the icons from their new
location on your hard drive.

I've got this too.
Maybe it is caused by cleaning history and cache of IE.
