Internet Explorer fails to oad webpage, then closes.

The problem started on Jan 1 2004. Internet explorer will open but the web page will not load. Then internet explorer fails and it offers to send a report. I have found a few similar problems on the newsgroup. Does anyone have any idea how to solve the problem.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
