I got infected with oneclicksearches. The antispyware
program can't seem to get rid of it. My proxies are always
set to oneclicksearches no matter what I do.
I had to use firefox to even get to you.
How can I get a working internet explorer again.
Do I have to use firefox instead or even linux?

Sounds Like you have a CWS Hijack , Try using Smitrem and
Ewido Security Suite to remove the problem, It may help
you to copy this to notepad so you can still view it in
safe mode.

Download smitRem.zip and save the file to your desktop.

http://andymanchesta.com/Downloads/smitRem.zip

(Thanks to Noahdfear)

Right click on the file and extract it to it's own folder
on the desktop.

Next download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite
here:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest
files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Then Download Ccleaner

http://www.ccleaner.com/ccdownload.asp

Reboot into safe mode (Reboot and keep tapping F8 then
choose safe mode from the list)

Double click Smitrem and follow the instructions, let it
finish disk cleanup .

Then run Ewido on a complete scan and remove everything
found

Then use Ccleaner and choose 'Run Cleaner' & Use
the 'Issues' button and scan for errors , fix any that
are detected then run it a second time to make sure it
shows clear.

You can then reload your desktop wallpaper and reset web
settings if needed, Goto Start Menu > Then Control Panel
and to Internet Options > Goto the Programs Tab and
press 'Reset Web Settings' then back to the general tab
and enter the homepage you want to use into the address
box then click apply.

Reboot back to normal mode and make sure its fixed, if
you have problems let us know and we can use Hijack This
and IEfix .

Regards

Andy
