Internet explorer does not work

I am connected to the internet. Can browse pages through firefox but not
internet explorer. Lan Settings is set to "Automatically detect settings"

Could you please elaborate on what Operating system are you using and what
IE version installed?.

Stating your Operating system Version (XP Pro or XP Home), Anti-virus
installed, Anti-malware and Firewall.
What happen to make this issue arise?.
Did you checked your Firewall settings not blocking the Iexplorer.exe from
accessing the Internet?.
