Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. (tps108.dll) This occurred this afternoon, kicked me off the internet and I have not been able to open Internet Explorer or any associated functions again. I have rebooted several times including leaving the computer off for 3 hours. I hope someone can help. Microsoft support has become extremely expensive. Stacey (I have to use Netscape to get on line and to this site.)

How do I repair Internet Explorer in Windows XP?

Thank you Carey. I just did a system restore to yesterday so for now I.E. is working but the problem makes me nervous so I printed the Doug Knox reinstall info. This memo states that the ability to repair I.E. does not exist in the version that ships with XP but that this feature becomes available after you upgrade to a newer version. Since my XP version is more than a year old and I have automatic updates does this mean that my current version has the ability to repair I.E? And if it does how do you access it?

If I reinstall I.E. from my XP cd that is probably 2 years old I will be missing 2 years of updates which could take forever to download

Thanks again.

Stacey.
