Any help will sure be appreciated! Tks, Art

I have a similair problem. I have an AMD 1700 processor, XP professional with IE5.
When starten the Explorer, the CPU use 100% memory runs up to about 60Mb
I checked for virusses, use Spybot. No results. Who can help me?

Same thing has happened me - have run Spybot/Ad-aware/Trojanhunter
with no joy. The only thing I can link it with is the installation of
Windows Update KB828035 which was
installed on 15th November - the problems appeared to happen
immediately after this. Everything grinds to a halt when I start IE -
even the mouse control has developed a time lag; when I disconnect IE
or once the page has finished loading, everything appears fine again.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I dont have that update installed but I'm experiencing the same
problem. One thing I have noticed is that this happens only when I'm
online..not when I'm offline.

this is the location where I found the patch that fixed all hang ups / cpu
usage @100% http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=830846

I have this problem and also when I try to access your link (among several
other Microsoft links) the font size is HUGE! As in a portion of one letter
takes up the entire page. I can't change it in view and so the help
articles are useless to me! Are these two problems related do you think?

Thanks!

dump your hard drive........start over, sometimes the best way to correct a problem is to eliminate it, not to correct it

In my case, uninstalling Dell Support software worked. My CPU would hang
most often when the Dell Alert service was launched. I haven't had a
problem since I uninstalled it. Hope it helps someone! Dumping the hard
drive might or might not work depending on where the problem originated. If
you are backing up and reinstalling your programs and data, you may just be
reinstalling your problem as well if you don't know where it came from.
