Internet Explorer - closes down window when use link to on web sit

Hi everybody

Two things - Firstly when I go to internet options then advanced tab, there
is no boxes for me to click or unclick ...anybody know why?

Secondly - when I use any link on web page it takes me to the link but then
the main web page shuts off I have to start all over again......why?

If the check boxes in Internet Options | Advanced are gone, right click a
blank spot on the Desktop and go to Properties | Appearance. In the Item:
field change the colors for 3D Objects (Preferably back to the default).
