Running Win XP Media 2005 with SP2 with automatic updates.
Outlook Express is working just fine. Tried to send an e-mail to
myself
and
it works as does this newserver.
Tried several of my Favorite web sites and still get the, "
Internet
Explorer cannot display the webpage " and when I utilize the
"Diagnose Connection Problems" the response is that, "Windows
did
not
detect any problems with your internet connection.
This just started this early morning after start up of the
machine.
Have installed nothing new and did a System Restore just prior
to
writing
this Post.
Please advise.
thanks

Hi Drybones,
Try this, it does not need you to be connected to the internet.
= Open a run command and type in:
ipconfig /flushdns click [OK]
ipconfig /renew click [OK]
netsh winsock reset click [OK]
Reboot your machine and see if you will be able to connect.
Does this happened recently, if it did try to restore to before
losing
the
internet explorer access to the internet.
Open the run command and type in:
iexplore /rereg click [OK] and wait for it to repair the IE.
How do you connect to the internet, with Modem/Router?.
HTH.
Let us know.
Regards,
nass

Not able to connect to internet.
Have a direct connect to the Cable modem and it is working as Outlook
Express is working. Also contacted Charter people earlier this morning
and
they run a check on the Modem as well.
As noted in my original post I did do a "restore" to last Thursday
with
no
results.
