Internet Explorer cannot be found

I'm attempting to restore some kind of functionality to IE
on my moms computer. From what I can tell her IE was
upgraded to IE6 and for some reason it wasn't liked and
since no one could find the add/remove the older version
was just restored or someone attempted to remove it
manually. Her OS is 98SE. I have found setups for IE5.5
and IE6 on her computer and none of them are in the
add/remove. Of course, no one in the household knows how
they all got there lol. I'm completly at a loss of what
to do with this mess. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.

Click ie6setup in C:\Windows\Windows Update Setup Files.
