IE is automatically opening in kiosk mode whichever icon I use to open
it - have tried all sorts of things to stop it including setting
Advanced options to default. No luck. Please help - this is driving me
crazy :)

Are you using IE 6 or IE 7?

Was this a default version of IE or was it built using IEAK?

Post back your answers,

have done that thanks :) More info here in case the people here are
smarter :)

it's IE6 It's a work version but it's not set by the boss but must
have been set by the last person to sit at this desk (who isn't here
any more) as all other computers don't do this. I would assume it's a
default version but don't really know - how do you check?

Open IE, press F11. If that gets you back to the display you want,
close IE while pressing the Ctrl key. Try it again to see if the
preferred setting is remembered.

tried - no luck. also tried with pressing shift since I heard that
can
work - still loads in kiosk mode. I can change the window to normal
mode ... then if I right click on a link to open in a new window it
opens in normal mode, but if I click CTRN + N or choose New window
from the File menu, it opens in kiosk mode.

Right clicking on the IE icon in the taskbar (not on the desktop) and selecting Properties and then the Shortcut Tab what do you have set in the Run box

says 'normal window'. I've actually tried playing around with the
different options here and changing them doesn't make a difference.
