Since I installed Spyware beta yesterday, I am experiencing
abnormal behavior. Internet Explorer does not open anymore
when I click on the shortcut or the program itself (.exe).
However, I am able to use it from an application like
Dreamweaver, however very very slow. But then when I want
to access a secure page, iexplorer suddenly disconnects and
disappears. I uninstalled Spyware but the problem is the same.
I have been able to access this discussion group with FireFox.

Hi Alsa:

In removing some malware using MSAS you may see
connection and firewall issues crop up.

Here are the fixes:
Open Internet Explorer, click File and ensure that Work
Offline is not checked.
For no Internet connection, if using XPSP2: at the
command prompt, type: netsh winsock reset <enter> and
reboot. See this MS article for additional info and
other OS versions.

To enable Windows Firewall in Windows XP SP2
1. Click Start; Click Run; type Firewall.cpl and then
click OK.
2. On the General Tab click ON (Recommended) and then
click OK.

Hope this helps,

If you have to Google Toolbar installed, try uninstalling that toolbar, and
see if that resolves the issue.

If it does, you can download a new copy of the toolbar from Google, and
reinstall it.
