internet explorer acting weird

Internet explorer is acting strangely. At random times it tries to load a
page, seemingly blank. It will go to the "The page cannot be displayed"
page with http:/// in the address bar. Any ideas as to why this is
happening? I think it has to do with pages trying to load things, but i
don't know exactly what. A site that it unceasingly happens at is
www.gamespot.com. I don't know what they are running in the background that
could be causing it. I have run ad-aware and norton AV. Any suggestions?

Go to www.macromedia.com
Install the shockwave,then flash player
Both are recommended and even required at some microsoft.
com web pages.

I am having the same problem with games.yahoo.com. I
have accessed this site before without problems.
