This appears to be telling you that you've got unsolicited incoming
connection attempts on Port 80, which is normal. Your firewall is
no-doubt rejecting similar connections to other ports all the time.
It may be griping about this one in particular because IE is listening
on the port when you're browsing, and "application listening" is the
definition of "open port." However, unless you're knowingly running a
server, your firewall should be rejecting ALL unsolicited incoming
connection attempts without bothering to notify you. Look at your
settings and see if you can tell it to do that without asking.
Perhaps F-Secure or Comcast has some help pages on the subject.
Correct. Unless you're running a server, you never want this. In
this case, "never" is SO "never" that blocking these sorts of
connections is all Microsoft's firewall does.
I would say that's unlikely from Comedy Central.
When you're browsing, your browser is asking for everything that
appears on your screen, and the "answer" is the information you see.
"Unsolicited" means nothing on your machine asked for it. While it's
always possible you've got something sending out your IP# for later
"special" attention, this notice alone doesn't indicate that.
You might want to try an online scan or two for your own peace of
mind, but I wouldn't waste a lot of time or tear up the machine
looking for something that probably isn't there.
Mainly, look into those settings.
