I recently bought a computer with Windows 7 and IE 8 installed on it. I had
seen ads, etc. and knew that IE 8 was supposed to be great and fast and
customizable. But to be honest, internet explorer 8 was a little bit of a
letdown.
The speed generally depends on your connection. However, a browser can have
something to do with it as well. I found that Firefox is much faster when
browsing. It takes quite awhile to load when I use IE 8.
As far as customization goes, internet explorer 8 is, well, awesome.
Unfortunately, it makes the browser slower than it already is.
The security is nice to a point. I found having to log into a flash system
everyday and every time I clicked something IE 8 asking me if it was OK to
click it. It got frustrating after a couple of days, which is around the time
I switched to Firefox.
I guess to conclude this I would say IE 8 isn't as good as it's cracked up
to be. Fortunately I didn't pay for it, and as far as free browsers go, this
is pretty good.
