Hi,

I m having problem uninstalling internet explorer 7 beta 2.
I've did all recommended solution but it does not work.

the steps that i've tried and failed:
1. Go to Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs.
Check "Show Updates" at the top. Look for Internet Explorer 7 in the list of
Microsoft updates.
FAILED BECAUSE I CAN'T FIND ANYTHING IN MICROSOFT UPDATE LIST EVEN WHEN
"SHOW UPDATES" IS CHECKED.

2. If "Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview" does not exist, run
%windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe. You need to have "view
hidden folders" enabled.
FAILED BECAUSE THE FOLDER AND FILES ARE NOT FOUND.

3. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/ieinstall.reg
or
HKey_Local_Machine\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components
Scroll down to {89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}
Click on it to view the contents
In the right side of the panel you should see IsInstalled. Double click on
that and when the box opens there will be a window in with a 1 in it.
Change that to 0 and click ok.
FAILED, WHEN I TRIED TO REINSTALL, IT STATED THAT INTERNET EXPLORER 7 IS
ALREADY INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER.

My reason of uninstall this ie7 because "display a notification of every
script error" is ticked and when browse found the webpage with script error,
it'll can't load the webpage at all even when the progress bar is moving to
the end.

Please advice the solutioin to my problem. I m running on WINDOWS XP PRO
BUILD 2600.XPSP_SP2_GDR.050301-1519 (SP2).

Thanks

I ran IE 7 for 3 days and because my anti virus woud not update in IE7 I
simply utilized the restore utlity to return to the previous state.
Presto, IE7 was gone and IE 6 was once again the Microsoft browser on my
system.

Beta testers of IE7 Public Preview are asked to post their comments to
microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.

On the web:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...?dg=microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

In your newsreader:
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general

First try uninstalling via Add/Remove Programs. (Make sure Show Updates box
is checked)

If IE7 isn't found there, try the following, courtesy of MVP Sandi
Hardmeier:

Run the commandline

%windir%\$NtUninstallie7bet2p$\spuninst\spuninst.exe

(replace %windir% with the path to your Windows folder, most often
c:\windows). Make sure view hidden folders is enabled via Control Panel,
Folder Options.

or

Go to the key

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer

Right click on Internet Explorer > New String Value > Name that value
InstalledByUser (the value of the new String should be your User Account
name) > Uninstall IE7 via Add/Remove Programs.

Dear PA Bear,

the solution is not working either. Any other advice? or should i stop this
thread and create new one under microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general
newsgroup?

Thanks

Yes, and when you do so, state the IE version you're running (IE Help >
About) and whether you ever had a previous build of IE7 installed.

Dear PA Bear,

I'll stop posting it into here and will start a new one in the general
section.

Thanks for the advice.
