Try this: http://docxp.mvps.org/b1n/FlashRepair.exe

If still no joy, try uninstalling Macromedia Flash Player with Adobe Flash
Player Uninstaller:
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157
"How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control".
And then reinstall it.

"Common Adobe Flash Player install issues ".
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=tn_15511#install_win

Simple, no stupid Active X controls that let you install the application
automatically...
Just ask Microsoft what happened to them.

What third-party "security" tools are running in the background which might be disabling Flash, etc.?

Beta testers of IE7 Public Preview are asked to post their comments & questions to and seek support in microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general newsgroup.

Should I reinstall Active X then? Mind if I ask also what I do not have the
icon here to start a new post? Can't find the answere in Help section. Do I
have to install Silverlight for it?

I am having the same problem. I have tried all the solutions on the Adobe
site (at least to my ability), and still nothing. The program says it is
installed, but I am still unable to view Flash programs. I also tried the
"Flash Repair" you mentioned, but I have Vista. Is there a Flash Reapair file
for Vista?

Hi,
See if any of these steps help:

From IE> Tools> Manage add-ons> Enable or disable add-ons> Show: Add-ons
that have been used by... > is Shockwave Flash Object enabled?

Check to see if a third-party program, toolbar or other browser add-on is
blocking scripts, ActiveX, active content, etc.

Check to see if a third-party program, toolbar or other browser add-on is
blocking header/user agent information.
Go to http://gemal.dk/browserspy/ Scroll down to and click on Headers
Information. Does "shockwave-flash" appear in the HTTP_ACCEPT field?

[From bellington]
Navigate to:
C:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashUtil9b.exe
Run the .exe and this will run an updater. After running it my Flash
problems were gone. This seems to fix most Flash problems Vista users are
getting.

Internet Options> Advanced
"Allow active content to run in files on My Computer"
Try this unchecked (default) and checked.

Hope this helps,

I too have had issues. Perhaps this will be of some help. Go to:
www.adobe.com/support and click on the Flash Player logo. It will being up a
page with a note in RED which reads: “SUPPORT ALERT Do you have problems
installing or running Adobe® Flash® Player for Internet Explorer? Most of
these problems can be attributed to Windows Registry permission issues. See
our technical documents on Flash Player and Windows Registry permission
errors.†I clicked on that link (in red above) and it took me to this web
page
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=fb1634cb&sliceId=1
which says in the very first sentence “Flash Player may fail to install due
to incorrect permissions in the registry.†In my case, I'm running Vista so
part of this will not apply. If you're on XP, it's all good. This link
should lead you to tech note 19148 which talks about the registry. Perhaps
that info will put you on the trail to success.
