Hi Guys,
I have also encountered this issue recently (+/- 4 weeks).
- IEXPLORE.EXE takes 100% - or near 100% CPU,
- Appears to close when I exit, although it takes a long time.
IEXPLORER.EXE continues to run and take all CPU resources without an open
window.
- Browsing becomes difficult and in some cases will not open many URLs
I have Windows XP Pro, up to date on all patches, run daily
virus/adware/malware scans with up to date tools. No viruses, malware
nothing.
I have looked at the IE ad ons in the Manage Ad on window and find nothing
unusual.
I have read and implemented two registry patches recommended by Microsoft in
their Knowledge base to no avail.
1)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843268/en-us --> My
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\KB843268_Performance_Issue\ DWORD Iexplore.exe
with value 0x00000001 (1)
2) Still looking to find the other one I made.
Also turned off smooth scrolling as recommended by Microsoft KB.
Also Set IE to automatically detect LAN settings
None of this has helped and I am still researching in the KB.
Anyone get any further?
Thanks,
Mickeyess
