When I try to download INTERNET EXPLORER 6 to my system, I keep getting this
error message: "SETUP HAS DETECTED A NEWER VERSION OF "INTERNET EXPLORER"
ALREADY INSTALLED ON THIS SYSTEM. SETUP CANNOT CONTINUE."
I don't have another version of Internet Explorer on my computer. What do I
do?

What operating system?
Why do you think you do not have "another" version of IE? (You can
only have one)
What version of IE do you have?
(and why are you trying to download IE6 if you already have it?)

First, let me say that I'm new to the "Download" world, and I'm probably
missing something that is obvious to you. That was the error message I
received. My system crased a few days ago and before this I was using
Netscape as my browser. Now that I have switched to MSN, I want to install
Interent Explorer.

Make sure your anti-virus is turned off.
The section
"Windows XP and Windows XP SP1: Edit the registry and install Internet
Explorer 6"
works on earlier versions of Windows.

It has nothing to do with the "Download" world.
Can you please try and answer my questions?
If you have an operating system of Win98 or greater, then you have IE
of some version.
It is normally here:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe"

Please try again.
