Internet explorer 6, does not function

I am runing windows ME, I have 2 IE on the computer and
only one add/remove. The browser will not let me access my
hot mail account and actually does not funtion. I get an
error message HTTP500 internal server error. How do I
remove both browsers and start over again hopefully to use
IE again. I am using MSN explorer and opera as our browsers
